How Does Carboxytherapy Kill Cellulite ?

Demonstration on the Rioblush

When it is administered subcutaneously, CO2 can diffuse to the dermis and to deeper layers to target the microcirculation system, to create vasodilatation and to increase blood flow.

Principle of action on cellulite:

There are 2 main effects of the CO2 on the body. At the vascular level, CO2 stimulates and increases the vascular tone and leads to vasodilatation of the microcirculation vessels. This is the local effect of the CO2 on the arteriole muscle cells.

The second effect is called Bohr’s effect. it is a mechanism taking place into the lungs. The CO2 transfer from the inside to the outside increases the oxygenation of the hemoglobin. CO2, injected subcutaneously unbalances the classical CO2/02 lung exchanges. Because there is more CO2 coming from the body, the consequence is that more Oxygen is taken from the atmosphere to be carried to the vessels.

These two actions are leading to: better oxygenation of the skin , vasodilatation. Increased blood flow and re-openings of capillary arterioles in the fat areas stimulate lipolytic activity : fat / cellulite are eaten in a better way than normal.
